It Started with a Vision

Chad M. Block founder of Block Communications had a vision to offer high quality products and customer service. Tired of dealing with wireless companies that just only focused on the bottom line and pushy salespeople. In 1996 he decided to open his first store in the heart of New Hope, PA Offering friendly service and high-quality customer service. “I rather tell the customers to come back the next day if they were on the fence, no reason to have buyer’s remorse” stated Chad. Within the first year Block Communications outgrow its location and moved to a larger location to be able to offer more products and a larger sales staff. Block Communications grow throughout the years and was one of the largest pager reseller and repair center in Pennsylvania.

It was one day that one our local police officer came in for a phone repair, we started talking and the officer was complaining about his police vehicle lighting. “I’m always having issues with my lights and the installation shop can’t get me in for weeks” stated the officer. It didn’t take long for Chad to decide that he could apply his vision with the wireless industry to the emergency lighting and installation.

In 2004 Mr. Block opened a new division called VIITEL which stood for Vehicle Ignition Interlock, Tracking and Emergency Lighting.

“We were the new kid on the block when it came to emergency lighting and installations” stated Chad There were some trail and errors throughout the years. Chad always was pushing for newer installation techniques and products. The main focus was to build the Police vehicle right the first time. Technology has changed from the old days or rotators and strobes with today’s LED products and the sophisticated vehicles that we install today.

Ignition Interlocks were also added in 2004 with the same core vision. High quality products and quality customer service and installation. It was a slow start back then with only a handful of customers, but customers talk and started to refer friends and family when they too needed the interlock. “It nice to know that our customers felt that we treated them with respect and offered a great product that they would refer other to us” stated Chad. Throughout the years we have grown to be the largest Draeger service center in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
